We have installed a lot of these on coastal homes in the last 3 years, the economics work especially well for a 4+ person household on the beach strips because the daily run cost is well under any gas alternative. Needs an outdoor location with airflow.
Solar hot water (Rheem Loline, Solahart): still a strong fit for north-facing beach roofs in Tugun, Bilinga, Kirra. Higher upfront cost, near-zero running cost. We have a couple of installers we work with for the solar panel side.
Electric storage (Rheem, Aquamax): we rarely install new electric storage on the coast, running cost is twice that of heat pump and the lifespan is no better. Replacement on existing electric-only homes only.
